ps ppl…potato is not good for fat loss.
If you want to eat potato save it for after a workout – & a light walk doesn’t count. OR count it as part of your 10% treat time

sounds like whats going on with me! I hit it hard and consistant every single day and my eating plan was right on point, I got results the first month and then started to notice belly fat increasing. I am geared up now with a lot of information I didn’t have before. Mainly from my college Nutrition course and the “You-On a Diet” book. This video is also helpful, thanks for posting.

    If you soak them …
If you soak them they won’t take as long to prepare. So if you are having them for breakfast, allow them to soak overnight and they should take less than half the time they normally would. Just get them cooking and do something else in the meantime.

    I read somewhere to …
I read somewhere to switch from one minute instant oats because they’re processed, to real whole grain steel cut oats that take 45 mins to cook. But although I have them- when do I have 45 mins to prepare them?

    Great advice Scott. …
Great advice Scott. It totally hits home for me. When I was in the midst of my 54 lbs weight loss, I was tracking my intake religiously. Whenever the scale progress seemed to slow down, I could go back to my records, and it was guaranteed that I had started to rationalize how healthy a questionable food was and began to consume it regularly.

    Here is what I eat:

Breakfast: 6 egg whites no yokes Hardboiled

Lunch: 1 can of Vegetarian beans mixed with mushrooms.

Dinner: Can of vegetables or pasta

Snack: RIce Crackers or 20 grams of protein whey bar.

It works for me. but you have to read the labels. the manufacturers could careless what you eat they lie constantly. read the labels it will shock you. also, I eat chinese rice food.

Oops forgot to add that I eat cheese sandwiches to reset my stomach, then it’s back to healthy food.

    Group 3 is Crap.
I’m a Vegan and I eat mainly from group 1 but it gives me diarhea(Yes you can Laugh) but when your bent over in pain it sucks. I actually eat cheese sandwiches and had to cut out bannana’s all together. if you look at the fat and saturated fat content you’ll see you can lose weight. Saturated fat has to be at 3% or lower and Fat and 3% or lower to lose weight. trust me I know, too many trips tothe ER room I learned quick .

    Hey Scott…
Great, great video!!! You must absolutely avoid processed foods in order to burn fat!!! You have to learn to read labels and KNOW what you’re putting in your body. The advertising on the front of the packaging is SO misleading…it’s purely marketing. Keep up the good work!!!!

    A have a question …
A have a question for you.I’m eating healthy.(really!)I buy only single ingredient food, always cook for myself,no boxed food is kept in the house! But i can sometimes overeat on theese healthy foods!(fruits, raw nuts, dried fruits, extra dark chocolate 85-90%cocoa cause the biggest problem!I eat my breakfast, lunch, dinner,bu whatever a have i feel hungry soon after and may consume more calories on nuts and fruits between meals.Loads of fruits. What do you think?

Hey Scott! I really don’t have a problem losing wight. I’ve always been a pretty petite. My thing is, I’m not sure how to lose the tiny pouch that I have on my belly! I don’t want to do any excersises that will make me lose a whole lot of weight, I would like to tone up though. Any ideas?

  17. ScottColby says:

    I think you’re …
I think you’re missing the point when you say its as simple as calories in vs calories out. Let’s say you eat a large pizza, a couple beers and a bowl of ice-cream. That’s probably over 2000 calories for the day. What do you eat for the rest of the day? Do you go hungry? Do you overeat? What happens to your blood sugar levels? Meanwhile 2000 calories of the types of foods I am recommending is actually a lot of food. You can’t eat that on one meal can you? And you feel full and satisfied.

  18. TakeFit says:

    Couldn’t disagree …
Couldn’t disagree with this Scott. Except that I don’t think oats should be in the 80% group, you should be focusing on healthy fats first, then protein and carbs should really be an afterthought (move them into the 20% group).

    I only partly agree …
I only partly agree. The truth is that eating healthy and eating for weight loss are 2 very different things. You can eat Lean Cuisine and low fat Wheat Thins and still lose weight as long as you keep calories in less than calories out. I agree those aren’t the healthiest choices, but you can lose fat and eat those items. And single or low ingredient items aren’t always healthy. Lays potato chips ingredients: potatos, sunflower oil, salt.

  22. CodyRice87 says:

    I agree with what …
I agree with what you say, ScottColby.

But I’m wondering, if someone eats about a meal a day(which I know definitely isn’t the proper diet) will results still come? Would they still lose fat in the waste or in the lovehandles just as quick?

  23. tkingkade says:

    I agree with you ( …
I agree with you (partially) because I do tend to eat whole, natural foods. However, it’s calories in vs calories out that determines whether one stores or burns fat. 100 extra calories from a banana can be worse than 100 extra calories from a Lean Cuisine meal (due to the banana’s impact on insulin release). But it’s still 100 calories you will need to store somehow.
While restricting calories for fat loss, you need all the nutrients you can get and processed foods lack many nutrients.
