Go to www.Six-Pack-Solutions.com The jackknife on an exercise ball is a great core movement for targeting your lower abdominals. It really is a variation on one of the best core exercises, the plank. You start in a plank position, with your shins resting on the ball. Your core muscles must contract strongly throughout the movement to hold your trunk stable while you’re rolling the ball back and forth with your legs. That means the muscles of your abs, back, hips, and shoulders are all worked. The jackknife is not for beginners. Do not attempt until you can hold a plank position for at least 1 minute. Tips on Technique **Brace your abs and hold your body in straight line from your feet to your shoulders **Don’t let your hips drop during the movement **Use a smooth and controlled movement **Inhale as the knees come in, exhale as they return to the starting position.
