Flat Belly Tips

useful information on getting a flat belly

Pregnancy and nutrition…. please help me. I want to loose FAT!?

Ok, first off, I’d like to request to anyone answering to please be kind.

So, I just found out last week I’m blessed with pregnancy. Unbelievable, cause I already love my sweet pea.

Anyway, I am confused on what to eat. A part of me wants to loose fat as I am about 30 lbs overweight and had lost the 30 lbs earlier in the year and regained them in two months when told to stop working out if i’m TTC, so I did and bam! I got pregnant. Don’t know if that was the real reason.
Anyway, I don’t want to jeopardize my baby’s health. I do want to cut out junk food out of my diet. This morning I had a broccoli and cheese omelette with a strawberry smoothe, I had a cup of yogurt at 11 am and will have an apple in a while. Then I’ll go out to lunch at 1 pm and have a subway sandwich with a lemonade. I’ve been drinking water all day and will continue to do so. I’m planning on having 2 pieces of grilled chicken breast with a side of vegetable and a side salad and possibly a bit of whole wheat pasta of brown rice (not sure yet) I’ll also have another piece of fruit later in the evening and maybe some yogurt.
I take a prenatal vitamin daily.
Will I loose fat if I continue to eat like this? I don’t care if the number on the scale goes up or down. I just want to loose fat! I hate being overweight because I want my pregnant belly to show early on like most average size girls! Due to excess fat in my midsection, that probably won’t happen until I’m about 5 or 6 months.
My fat is distributed evenly throughout my body, so I don”t look bad, but I just want to know if it’s possible to loose fat while remaining healthy and keeping it safe for the baby.

Thank you!
Also, I’d like to start exercising, like do mainly low impact aerobic exercises and may some Yoga too!

It sounds like you are on the right track! Just keep doing what you are doing (you already eat healthier than me lol). I think you have a good idea of where to set your limits. I wouldn’t be too concerned about losing fat at this point. I weigh about 142 and i am in my 5th month and still not showing. That’s just the way my body works, though, you may start showing sooner than me no matter how much you weigh because your body is different than mine. The way you are eating and exercising can help you eliminate some of the unnecessary fat while keeping you healthy. Just make sure you consult your physician about where your boundaries should be. I think walking is a great way to keep your body in shape during pregnancy, as well as those fitness balls. Look online for pregnancy routines with those because they are low impact exercises that will help tone your body. Just make sure you are getting about 30 minutes of exercise each day and don’t try to do some strenuous workout routine, that would be bad lol. Hope this helped and best of luck! Congratulations on the pregnancy!

From what I have learned, losing weight during pregnancy is not a good idea.
Eat healthy but don’t worry about the weight. You doctor wil be the best to advise you.

Just keep with what you are eating and take walks. Eating healthy, cutting out the junk food and walking are all great things to do to keep your body healthy as your baby grows. As for losing the actual fat, you might although you might not notice it. So just stay healthy and congrats!

You could lose all the weight you want your baby will still get nutrients from your body. My doctor said not to be concerned at all if I lose weight cause since your overweight you have plenty of reserves for your baby to get nutrition from if lets say you starved yourself, your baby would keep growing. Plus taking your pre-natals you should be fine. I kept eating the normal amount I always eat and lost ten pounds and have only gained 3 of those ten pounds lost and I’m 5.5 months. Just eat healthy and you should lose weight, and also dont eat deli meat, your not suppose to since there could be bacteria in ham and all that stuff.

I am in the same boat sister!! Only I am about 100 overweight. I was even more overweight with my last pregnancy. I seem to eat better when I am pregnant and crave fresh fruits and veggies. My last pregnancy I ate right, I didn’t diet or anything, just made better food choices. I only gained 10 pounds the whole time I was pregnant and the doctor was fine with that because I was already so heavy. The major difference between that pregnancy and this one is I was working then so I am afraid I am not getting enough exercise so I have started taking walks with my other children. Even if you weren’t exercising before, I think you have to start now because you need to have strength and stamina doing child birth. I think doing some yoga aimed at pregnancy is a good choice and so is walking. The important thing is to be healthy and not to try to lose weight right now but you want to try not gaining a whole bunch of weight either.

You will have plenty of time to lose after your baby is born. If you breastfeed, chances are that you will lose a whole bunch of weight especially if you stick with the good food choices you are making right now.
