What Causes Belly Fat? How to Get Rid of It?

What causes belly fat? It was surprising to me that this is actually a very common question. I suppose with all the programs and products promising to give you a nice, flat stomach, it becomes a natural question. On the other hand the question seems almost naive, after all what is belly fat if not fat that is stored around the stomach area? There is no “Belly Fat”

Quite shocking I know. But it’s true, there is no such thing. What is there though is an ability of a human body to store extra energy (or calories if you will) as fat for later consumption. Of course, in todays world where food is easily available that “later consumption” never comes for many people, and over time they become fatter and fatter. But the body needs to store that fat somewhere, and the first place is the stomach area.

Since it was the first area to accumulate fat when a person was gaining weight, it will logically be the last area when the process is reversed – that is when a person is losing weight. Of course, we all want instant results, and when you see that you’ve lost pounds but your belly is as big as always, you start to question if perhaps you are doing it wrong, and if maybe there are some exercise that will burn belly fat.
